Home Park Public
Home Park Public forms part of Windsor Great Park, sitting within the setting of Windsor Castle at the heart of Windsor Town Centre.
Its central location makes it an ideal starting point for enjoying everything Windsor has to offer, from shops and cafés to historic attractions and riverside strolls. For those seeking a longer walk, it is also within easy reach of the Long Walk and the 2.43 miles (3.91 km) route leading to the King George III Copper Horse statue.
History & Heritage
Home Park Public, lying north of Windsor Castle, has a long history as both a recreational landscape and an area of formal garden design. Its most significant early development came in the late 1600s and early 1700s, when Charles II and later William III began shaping the land, with Queen Anne ultimately creating the Maastricht Garden.

The construction of the Windsor–Datchet road in the 1840s and later sports facilities altered parts of the original footprint, but the area continued to evolve. Today, Home Park Public is known for its sports grounds and for offering one of the most iconic views of Windsor Castle.
