Art in the Garden – Privacy statement
Under data protection law, The Crown Estate is the controller for your personal data.
In the event that you purchase one of the sculptures, your personal information will be passed to the Surrey Sculpture Society and the relevant artist, so that the transaction can be completed. They will be separate controllers for your personal data.
Information we may collect from you
We will collect and process the following types of information:
- contact details for marketing information, where consent has been provided;
- contact details and payment information where a sale takes place.
Purposes and legal basis
Where you have signed up to receive news and updates from us Windsor Great Park, we will process your data for that purpose on the basis of consent. You can withdraw this consent at any time by contacting us or using the ‘unsubscribe’ link at the bottom of an update email.
Where you decide to purchase a sculpture from us, we will use your personal data for the purposes of completing that sale, and the legal basis for processing your information will be for the purposes of that contractual agreement as it will allow us to process your payment and, for example, arrange delivery.

We have been advised that the Surrey Sculpture Society and the artist you purchase from will retain personal data, where necessary, for a period of one year.
Where you have opted to receive updates from us, we will keep your contact details until you opt out, or until we decide to stop sending updates on the event – for example, if the project closes.
We will not transfer your personal data out of the UK and/or European Economic Area unless appropriate safeguards have been put in place to protect your rights and the data in question.

The cookies we use allow your browser to remember whether you’ve visited our site before and what your preferences are.

- Although the cookies we use on this website are quite harmless and do not reveal your identity, not everyone wishes to have text files downloaded onto their computer or mobile device. If you prefer, it is possible to block some or all cookies, or even to delete cookies that have already been set; but you need to be aware that you might lose some functionality on this website
- You can manage how cookies engage with your computer or mobile device via your browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Android), so you are alerted when cookies are sent or you can refuse cookies altogether. You can also delete cookies which have already been set
- There is a very useful website explaining how to control your interaction with cookies – please visit this site for more information.
