Billy Tannery
Championing sustainability and British craftsmanship
Billy Tannery is a pioneering British leather company that shares our commitment to sustainability, ethical sourcing, and local enterprise. Through a unique collaboration, deerskins from Windsor Great Park are transformed into premium leather goods, available at The Savill Garden Gift Shop.
Innovative origins
Billy Tannery was founded to tackle the wasteful disposal of goatskins in the UK food industry. In response, the company built the UK’s first new tannery in over a century, reviving traditional leather-making with a modern, eco-conscious approach. Their process uses natural bark extracts and recycles over 90% of tanning water, setting a benchmark for responsible production.
British deer leather: The Parkland Range
Expanding its sustainable mission, Billy Tannery launched the Parkland range, which showcases British deer leather. All products are designed and made in the UK by family-run workshops, reinforcing the company’s dedication to quality and community.
A circular partnership
Our collaboration with Billy Tannery reflects a shared ethos of environmental stewardship. By repurposing deerskins that would otherwise go to waste, we support a transparent circular economy. Each item in the Royal Estate Leather range – bags, wallets, and accessories – is crafted from deer sourced directly from Windsor, ensuring full traceability and authenticity.
