The Winter Beds provide intense pockets of perfume and colour during the crisper months. The clove-scented pink flowers of the Himalayan Daphne bholua ‘Jacqueline Postill’ offer enchanting fragrances that will lift spirits. The amber stems of the dogwoods in the Winter Beds conclude their autumnal display with an intense red colour change in winter.
The Queen Elizabeth Temperate House hosts seasonal interest and a relaxing spot for cold and wet days.
Conifers are conspicuous in the landscape at this time of year and contrast with the rugged oaks and majestic beech trees found within The Savill Garden. The New Zealand Garden also has a great deal to offer in winter, with the low sunlight reflecting beautifully off the evergreen plants.
*Car park charges apply. The Savill Garden and Savill Building are closed on 24 and 25 Dec.
