Sculpture Exhibition by the Surrey Sculpture Society
Horticulturists and art lovers will enjoy an inspirational day at The Savill Garden, discovering impressive sculptures nestled within the Garden’s magnificent blooms and woodland. Each sculpture, provided by the Surrey Sculpture Society, has been inspired by the natural world and finds its place within the surrounding beauty of The Savill Garden.
25 years of the Surrey Sculpture Society
From small beginnings – fourteen visionary sculptors getting their heads together in 1994 – Surrey Sculpture Society is now a self-funding group almost 300 strong, from emerging artists to well-known professionals, with a diverse range of styles and skills. In 2019, celebrating 25 years of creativity and the Society are still proud to uphold the same founding principles - to provide exhibition opportunities for our members, to encourage interaction and exchange of ideas and to promote a greater appreciation of sculpture within society.
Standard entry fees apply for The Savill Garden. Entry to the exhibition is included within the price of your ticket to the Garden and all sculptures are for sale with prices ranging from £200 – £10,000+.
Windsor Art Group
The Savill Building will also host paintings from Windsor Art Group, a community group of local aspiring amateur artists, from 23 September. A proportion of income from the sales of these paintings will be donated towards facilities at the Scout campsite in Bears Rails.
The Windsor Art Group was founded in 1982 by Judith Gardener, then a lecturer in fine art at Windsor College. Membership was open and still is, to amateur artists who enjoy working in the company of others. The Group meets every Tuesday evening during school term time, including in their programme of works, a variety of themes, plus models, still life, lectures and demonstrations from visiting professional artists.
