Windsor Great Park offers 4800 acres of natural beauty to explore – from hilltop panoramas over Windsor Castle, to ancient woodland trails, to spectacular lake views.
Windsor Great Park has over 17 miles (27km) of smooth and even paths and roads which are perfect for cyclists. Roads are shared with Estate or Park resident vehicles, pedestrians and horse riders and we would ask that you follow our cycling guidelines below.
Set your speed with consideration for pedestrians and other road users, ride no more than two abreast and travel in groups of no more than six
Cycling is not permitted on the Long Walk and in the Deer Park, or in The Valley Gardens - so please plan your return route to Virginia Water car park to avoid cycling through this area
Be aware that, during certain events, parts of the Park can become extremely busy. On major event days, especially those focussed on Smith’s Lawn and Guard’s Polo Club, there can be considerable vehicle movements, especially between Blacknest Gate and Smith’s Lawn, so please take special care in these areas, especially if cycling with children

Off-road cycling is not permitted anywhere in Windsor Great Park. For steep gradients, big air jumps and fast-paced trail cycling, head to the lively paths of Swinley Forest. To find out more about this area, which is around 20 minutes by car from the main Park, please visit our pages on Swinley Forest and Mountain Biking.
